The blackberry maker Research In Motion Limited (NASDAQ:RIMM) has opened a BlackBerry Innovation Center in Bandung, Indonesia in partnership with Bandung Institute of Technology (BIT).

The company will provide scholarships to 30 BIT students over five years. The center will educate students on mobile app development and encourage Indonesia’s mobile computing industry.

Hastings Singh, Research In Motion Limited (NASDAQ:RIMM)’s vice president and managing director for South Asia, said, “RIM is committed to Indonesia, and underlying the substantial investment we are making to establish the BlackBerry Innovation Center, it is our goal to nurture and accelerate mobile application development from the talent within Indonesia”.
