Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is set to invest $300 million in Nook Media.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has invested $300 million in Barnes & Noble’s digital and college business partnership venture Nook Media.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will hold a 17.6% stake in Nook Media while the remaining shares will be held by Barnes & Noble.

Nook Media will deliver digital reading products to users of Microsoft products.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) president Andy Lees said, “Nook Media is a leader in developing the next generation of digital reading and we look forward to the company bringing one of the world’s largest digital libraries to Windows 8 devices via their upcoming Windows 8 app. We are also excited by Nook Media’s product roadmap and expansion into markets around the world as demonstrated by their recent launches in the United Kingdom”.

Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) stocks were at 30.03 at the end of the last day’s trading. There’s been a -2.9% change in the stock price over the past 3 months.
