Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has purchased PhoneFactor Inc.

Microsoft Buys Authentication Tech Firm

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) announced that it has purchased Overland, Kan, based authentication specialist PhoneFactor for an undisclosed sum of money.

The company plans to incorporate PhoneFactor’s multi-factor authentication technology into its cloud services and on-premises applications.

PhoneFactor will continue to sell its products for the time being.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Server and Tools division corporate vice president Bharat Shah said, “Following this acquisition, Microsoft plans to further integrate PhoneFactor’s technology into its Active Directory, Windows Azure Active Directory and Office 365 products”.

Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) company shares are currently standing at 30.03.
