Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) has won a $66 million contract to set up an Army Research Institute.

Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT), the US defense contractor, has received a six year contract from the US Army Engineering and Support Center to support Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases Replacement Laboratory.

As part of the $66 million contract, the company will transfer personnel and equipment to the new facility at Fort Detrick.

Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT)’s Global Training and Logistics business’ vice president for technical services June Shrewsbury said, “Standing up a research environment is a complex undertaking requiring expertise in medical outfitting and transition. Our support will help researchers advance scientific discoveries that will protect Americans from infectious diseases”.
