Intel Shows Off New Chip

Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), the chipmaker, has shown off the Next Unit of Computing (NUC), its latest small PC.

NUC is a palmed sized circuit board.

The 10x10cm board includes impressive features like two SO-DIMM sockets, two mini PCI-Express slots and good connectivity with Thunderbolt, HDMI and USB 3.0 support.

Fred Birang, an Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) senior product marketing engineer said that, “The NUC is intended for use in digital signage and kiosks, which would explain the firm’s conservative choice of proven Sandy Bridge processors. Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) is expected to put its NUC into the channel, meaning that boards might become available sooner rather than later”.

Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:INTC) shares were at 28.97 at the end of the last day’s trading. There’s been a 9.9% change in the stock price over the past 3 months.
