Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has been fined for street data collection for its Street View project.

The US based search engine giant Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) is facing a $25,000 fine for impeding a US investigation into the Web search leader’s data collection for its Street View project.

The Federal Communications Commission said the company had collected personal information without permission and said Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) had deliberately refused to cooperate with the agency.

However, Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has not commented on the matter yet.
