It has been reported that Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) is preparing to form a local brand in China.

According to Joe Hinrichs, president of Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F)’s Asia Pacific and Africa region, the company is planning to create a China only brand that would allow Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) to compete with cheaper local competitors, without diminishing the value of the main brand.

Hinrichs said, “We continue to study that with our partners. We don’t have anything to announce, and we don’t have any plan at the moment.”
