Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has plans to close its California call centers.

The cable-TV provider Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) is eliminating 1000 call center jobs in California as part of its plan to transfer the works to Denver, Seattle and Portland.

The company is closing its Livermore, Morgan Hill and Sacramento call-centers in California.

The company will hire 400 call-center employees in Denver and Colorado Springs.

The Denver facility will get 250 new employees while the Colorado Springs center will hire 150 new workers.

Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) said in a statement, “This is part of an ongoing call-center strategy to align our customer-care facilities across the company into specialized Centers of Excellence. These centers are dedicated to serving customer segments with specific product and service needs”.

Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) shares are currently standing at 35.12.
