Under this new deal, Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) will supply the Boston Red Sox with a Metro Ethernet connection that delivers high-speed Internet to both baseball fans and team employees at Fenway Park.

Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) is also supplying bandwidth that supports WiFi hotspots used by 1,800 to 2,000 attendees during games at Fenway, and Internet connections used by media covering the games.

Red Sox director of IT Steve Conley said “the team is using the Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Ethernet connection to access video for its scouting and player evaluation programs, which generate large video files. These videos are very important to the scouting department, especially in the months leading up to the amateur player draft.”

Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) stocks are currently standing at 29.68.
