The Wall Street Journal has reported that Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) will have to face a multi-billion write down as the bank is unwinding its minority investment in Morgan Stanley Smith Barney brokerage.

The bank has nearly $10 billion of equity stakes in Morgan Stanley Smith Barley.

Wall Street Journal said, “Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) is facing a potential multibillion-dollar write-down as it begins unwinding its minority investment in the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney brokerage”.
