Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) has opened a new economic center for Niger Delta development.

The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta, PIND, a new initiative by the US based oil giant Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) to improve the living standards of people of the Niger Delta region, has commissioned its regional office in Ugbokodo, Nigeria.

Dennis Flemming, PIND Project Director, while unveiling the EDC center said, “Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) established a $50 million fund that PIND administers and coordinates to support a portfolio of socio-economic development programs and partnership for a five year period.”

Chevron Corp. (NYSE:CVX) shares were at 103.36 at the end of the last day’s trading. There’s been a -2.8% movement in the stock price over the past 3 months.
