Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has confirmed its plan to build a new data center in Oregon.

Confirming a long-standing rumor, an Oregon TV station has reported that the technology giant Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has acquired 160-acre land to build a new data center in Oregon.

An Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) representative confirmed to the station that the company purchased the land for a data center but declined to reveal further details.

Apple representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
